Boo Dance Party Collection – Card Inspiration with Annie Williams

Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Boo Dance Party Collection from Spellbinders.  The fun interactive designs, cool backgrounds, and cute sentiments in this collection inspired me to create three spooky and cute cards perfect for the Halloween-lovers on your mailing list.

Hey Boo Dancing Ghost Card

The Dancin’ Ghost Die Set was so adorable that I had to create a card with him first.  Here I added this cute guy to a spooky starry night for a fun Halloween card.

  • Trim a piece of Cosmic Sky Cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5” and emboss it with the Stargazer Embossing Folder.
  • Lightly rub silver gilding wax over the raised areas to bring out the stars. Once set, blend Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges.
  • Die cut white, Onyx, Persimmon, Lilac Blossom, and Rainforest Cardstock using the Dancin’ Ghost Die Set and assemble with liquid glue.
  • Die cut the sentiment out of Mirror Silver and Onyx Cardstock and adhere the layers together with liquid glue.
  • Add the ghost to the center of the card with foam adhesive, allowing the legs to move back and forth freely.
  • Adhere the sentiment to the bottom of the card with liquid glue.

Dancing Mummy Card

Of course, the Dancin’ Mummy Die Set is just as cute, so I decided to work with him next.  Here I added this adorable character to a fun foiled background for a cute, interactive Halloween card.

Spooky Haunted House Card

The Haunted House Die Set has everything you need for quick, spooky cards.  I added a colorful night sky to this fun scene for an eye-catching Halloween card.

  • Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5” and apply Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, and Black Soot Distress Ink over the panel to create a colorful night sky.
  • Add the panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner.
  • Die cut Onyx, Beeswax, Royal Amethyst, Lunar Gray, Graphite, and white cardstock using the Haunted House Die Set and assemble with liquid glue.
  • Trim a piece of Onyx Cardstock to about 1” x 5.5” and adhere to the bottom of the card with a tape runner.
  • Stamp a sentiment from the Boo Dance Party Sentiments Stamp Set onto white cardstock using black ink and trim it out.
  • Add the house, ghosts, and bats to the front of the card with liquid glue.
  • Adhere the sentiment to the top corner with foam adhesive.

Foiled Ghost Card

I was having so much fun with this collection that I made one more easy card using the Hypnotic Background Glimmer Plate along with some previously-released Halloween products.

  • Trim two pieces of Onyx Cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5”.
  • Apply Fuchsia Flower Hot Foil to one panel using the Hypnotic Background Glimmer Plate.
  • Apply Tangerine Hot Foil to the center of the other panel using the sentiment from the Spider Web Background Glimmer Plate Set.
  • Adhere the sentiment panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner.
  • Die cut the center out of the other foiled panel with one of the dies from the Essential Circles Die Set and adhere on top of the card with foam adhesive.
  • Die cut white cardstock using the ghost dies from the Open House Boo Die Set and adhere around the card front with foam adhesive.
