Gift Wrapping with Vivant and Pepin Press
Hello there, crafty friends! Marie here again from Marie Nicole Designs. I have a fun post to share today, featuring the papers and ribbons from Vivant and Pepin Press! I’ll be creating a few projects with these items and paring them with some glimmering and wax seals from Spellbinders. Let’s get started!
FOILING ON RIBBON
Did you know that you could foil on ribbon? Some of this satin ribbon from Pepin is perfect for this technique! I grabbed a roll of my copper foil and some of the Dark Green Vivant ribbon and started to heat up my Glimmer machine. This is easy to do and it adds so much to your projects!
I am using the Especially For You glimmer plate set. This has some lovely glimmer sentiments that fit nicely on the ribbon. I added the sentiment plate to the Glimmer platform, added my strip of foil, and then added my ribbon on the tip. I used the grid lines to keep everything straight and in place, and then I taped down the ribbon to keep it from moving as I ran it through my Platinum die machine.
After running it through your die machine, you get to peel off the foil and see how it looks! I think that copper foil against the dark green is amazing!
I also foiled another ribbon with another sentiment and then added it to a card I made using some of the patterned paper from Pepin Press.
ADDING WAX SEALS OVER CORD
Now, this paper from Pepin is a type of wrapping paper, so not only can you add it to cards and paper crafts, you can also wrap with it. I wrapped a small package with some of the FLORA Pepin papers, and then I wanted to add some cord and top it with a wax seal.
I used some of the Vivant Steel Blue Cotton Cord, wrapped it around several times, and then tied a simple bow. As I was doing this, my wax was melting off to the side. I decided to use a few copper wax beads to match the foiling I had already used.
I poured the wax right over the cord and then pressed my wax stamp into it. I used about 5 wax beads for this. However, if you want to add an extra bead just to be sure you have enough wax to cover your cord, you can!
To finish my wax seal, I colored the design with my gold paint marker. I love using my marker on wax seals. It just makes the design stand out!
ADD A BOOKMARK
Now, you may have noticed that with my gift I wrapped, I added a little pocket to the front. This is great for adding a little card or if you want to add a little keepsake, a bookmark is a fantastic idea. They are easy to make, and something that the recipient can use over and over again.
I had my leftover glimmered ribbon so I added it through an eyelet I punched into the top of my bookmark. It looks so pretty tucked into the little gift, don’t you think?
So there you have it! A look at some of these gorgeous items by Vivant and Pepin press, and a few fun ways to use them with the items that Spellbinders already has.
I hope this inspires you in your own crafting. Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time,
Marie Nicole
