Snow Garden Inspiration

Hello, crafty friends!! Brenda Noelke here from My PaperCut Creations! I’m thrilled to be guest posting on the Spellbinders blog again today! I’m sharing three cards using the Snow Garden Collection designed by Susan Tierney-Cockburn!! I’m always a fan of Susan’s collections and this one is no exception!

SEASON’S GREETINGS

For my first card, I foiled the Winter Bought Hot Foil Plate onto smooth white cardstock with opaque black foil, then colored it with Copic markers.

The panel was die-cut with the second largest die in the A2 Matting Basics A Die Set and adhered to a panel of red cardstock that was cut using the largest die in the same set before being adhered to an A2 white card base.

The sentiment, from the Snow Garden Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die Set, was foiled onto Glimmer cardstock with red foil, then cut out with the die included in the set. It was adhered with foam tape and Red Color Essential Gems finish this card off perfectly.

MERRY CHRISTMAS – GLORY OF SNOW & AMERICAN HOLLY

I started this card by die-cutting all of the elements from the Glory of Snow and American Holly die sets from Susan’s garden specialty cardstock. I colored them with Copic markers, then shaped the flowers and leaves using the Ultimate Tool Kit by following Susan’s YouTube videos.

For the background, I embossed a panel of white cardstock with the Orange Peel Quilt 3D Embossing Folder. I trimmed one side and adhered a thin strip of red cardstock, along with a strip of red & white striped patterned paper. The flowers and leaves were arranged and adhered to the background with liquid glue.

This sentiment is also from the Snow Garden Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. It was foiled onto Glimmer specialty cardstock with red foil, cut out with the coordinating die and popped up with foam tape. I added a bit of texture paste and clear glitter to the leaves and crystal glaze to the berries to complete this one.

CHRISTMAS CHEER – HEMLOCK & CROCUS

My final card combines the Hemlock, Cones and Chickadee with the Crocus and Ladybugs Etched Dies. I die-cut all of the elements from Susan’s garden specialty cardstock, then added color and shading with Copic markers. I followed Susan’s directions in her YouTube videos to shape and adhere all of the pieces together.

For the background on this one, I embossed a panel of white cardstock with the Holiday Floral Swag 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to an A2 white card base. The branches, cones, flowers and bird were all adhered with liquid glue.

This sentiment is also from the Snow Garden Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. This time it was foiled onto Glimmer cardstock with matte gold foil and cut out with its coordinating die. It was adhered with foam tape. To finish, a drop of crystal glaze was added to the bird’s eye for a little shine.

I am so happy I purchased the Snow Garden Collection. My winter garden hosts chickadees in my dormant trees and I really want to feature this bird. The florals are so lifelike especially the holly, fir, and cones. I now have the means to send greetings to my loved ones that will truly represent me.
