Video Friday | Classics Layered Backgrounds Cards
Hello everyone. This is Nichol Spohr and I’m thrilled to be here today with a set of thank you cards featuring layered backgrounds created with the Fancy Edged Rectangles, Circles, and Ovals dies. Tone-on-tone cardstock creates beautiful layered backgrounds. A simple die cut greeting and a stamped sentiment phrase strip is all that’s needed to finish each of these cards. The Fancy Edged Rectangles, Circles, and Ovals were die cut from multiple colors of cardstock and layered to create the backgrounds for each of the cards. The images were stacked largest to biggest and adhered slightly hanging off the edge of a white card base. Any excess was trimmed off…

When I saw the Fancy Edged Circles I immediately thought that the smallest die reminders me of a flower, so I went with it and made a card filled with flowers. I started by die cutting the smallest scalloped circle from 5 different colors of card stock and I made 4 flowers…

For my cards, I will be using dies from a brand new Classics March release. Take a look at my first project: I started by ink blending the whole panel of my watercolor paper. I decided to use Distress oxides since they blend really easily, and the results are awesome even without a lot of effort. I used four colors: Pine Needles, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Faded Jeans. Next, I sprinkled some water directly on the panel and then wipe it away with tissue. This gives…
