Santa Lane Card Kit – 5 Ways with Cassie Trask

Hello everyone, it’s Cassie Trask here, and I’m pretty excited to be guesting here on the Spellbinders blog!

Christmas cards are some of my favorite to make and definitely to send, so I couldn’t wait to play with the Limited Edition Santa Lane Cardmaking Kit.

Santa Lane is a mega Christmas kit that will have you creating many holiday projects. Includes a set of 15 thin metal cutting dies to create a standing Jolly Santa Claus and all his accessories, including a sleigh! Have him ring a bell, carry a sack full of gifts or hang out with a cute snowman. So many ways to design with him. If that wasn’t enough, this kit also includes clear stamp, sparkly gems, beautiful holiday patterned papers, various kinds of stickers, cardstock, card bases and envelopes. There’s even foam and tape adhesives so no excuse to get started on your holiday projects!

I wanted my first card to look like a sweet little town scene on my A7 card, so I grabbed a couple of the house ephemera along with some tree ephemera to create the scene.  I added a few stars, and then finished it off by adding a couple of puffy sentiment stickers.

My second card is another A7, which I’m really enjoying making.  I cut down one of the patterned papers to be 4×6 inches and attached that right to the card base.  I found a sentiment that matched perfectly from the sentiment pack and popped it up using foam squares.  A few chipboard stickers later and a hand-drawn border using a gold gel pen, and this card was finished!

Our third card is another A7, and I just had to put together the Santa and his sleigh of goodies from the dies that came in this kit!  I love how easy it is to die-cut a bunch of the pieces and then leisurely turn them into these adorable little pieces.  The included information card makes the assembly a breeze, so I know I’ll be using these again and again.  I added a few pieces of ephemera and a few sparkly gems to finish off this sweet little card.

My fourth card is another scene because I truly enjoy scene cards.  I used a couple of the patterned papers to come up with some wallpaper and carpet and then used foam squares to attach down my fireplace, tree, and armchair.  The sentiments came from the sentiment pack, and then I embellished it with some gold sequins to finish this A2 card.

My final card might be my favorite.  I used the gold puffy stickers to cover a navy blue piece of cardstock.  Those stars are so striking on that dark cardstock.  Then I adhered tree ephemera piece along with a sentiment banner.  I love this bright A2 card!
