The Victorian Garden Collection With Brenda Noelke

Hello, crafty friends! Brenda Noelke here from My PaperCut Creations! I’m thrilled to be guest posting on the Spellbinders blog again today! I am sharing three cards using The Victorian Garden Collection designed by Susan Tierney-Cockburn! This collection consists of six die sets and one hot foil plate set!! I’ll be using four of the die sets on my three cards today!

CAMELLIA A2 FRIENDSHIP CARD

My first card features the beautiful Camellia Etched Dies with a bit of lavender from the Mason Jar and Lavender Etched Die Set!

I started by die-cutting the layers for the camellia and leaves from the Camellia Die Set and the lavender from the Mason Jar and Lavender Die Set from Susan’s Garden Specialty Cardstock.  I added color and shading with Distress Oxide Inks and blending brushes, then used Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit to add texture and dimension to the petals and leaves. I adhered all of the layers together with liquid glue. I also added some You Had Me At Yellow Prills to the center of the camellia.

The background panel was embossed onto gray cardstock with the Bamboo Trellis 3D Embossing Folder. It was trimmed slightly and adhered to an A2 white card base. The sentiment is from the Garden Favorite Sentiments Stamp Set. It was silver heat embossed onto white cardstock and cut out with the middle oval die in the Essential Ovals Etched Die Set. All of the dies were arranged and adhered with liquid glue. Pink Opalescent Color Essentials Sequins finish off the card.

SPIDER MUM A2 CARD

My second card features the Spider Mum Etched Dies. The dimension you can achieve with this set is so amazing!

I die-cut all the petals and leaves for this one using Susan’s Garden Specialty Cardstock and the Spider Mum Etched Die Set. I added color to the die-cuts with Distress Oxide Inks, then used Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit to add texture and dimension. I adhered all the floral layers together using liquid glue.

The background was embossed onto Glacier Cardstock with the February Embossing Folder of the Month, letting the bottom of the panel hang out of the embossing folder. The sentiment, also from the Garden Favorites Sentiments Set, was silver heat embossed onto the bottom of the panel. The panel was trimmed slightly and adhered to an A2 white card base. The mums and leaves were adhered with liquid glue and Pink Opalescent Color Essentials Sequins add a bit of shine.

MASON JAR 5” X 7” FRIENDSHIP CARD

For my final card, I wanted to combine several of the sets from this collection, so I chose to create a 5” x 7” card.

I die-cut all the layers for the flowers and leaves for this card from Susan’s Garden Specialty Cardstock using the Camellia, Southern Magnolia and Mason Jar and Lavender Etched Die Sets. The mason jar was cut from Glacier Cardstock. I added color and shading to all the die-cuts using Distress Oxide Inks, once again, then added dimension with Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. I adhered all the layers of the flowers together as I did the first two cards, with liquid glue. I also added some You Had Me At Yellow Prills to the center of the camellia and magnolias.

The background for this one was embossed onto light gray cardstock with the February 2023 Embossing Folder of the Month. The panel was trimmed slightly and adhered to a white 5” x 7” card base. The sentiment is from a combination of dies from the Anemone Glimmer Blooms Hot Foil Plate and Die Set & Wonderful Script Sentiments Set. It was die-cut from white and light gray cardstock. All the die-cuts were adhered with liquid glue and the Pink Opalescent Color Essentials Sequins were the perfect finishing touch.
