Sealed for Summer Trio with Marie Nicole
Hello again, crafty friends! Marie here from Marie Nicole Designs. I hope the start of your summer has been fun and fabulous! I’ve been able to create with the new Sealed for Summer collection from Spellbinders and let me tell you- this collection is definitely fun and fabulous. Let’s take a look!
FLORAL WINDOW
One of the sets in this collection that I really loved was the Modern Ovals set. These nested ovals are perfect for cutting out card layers, windows, and as you will see in my next cards, even rainbows!
For this first card, I cut out an oval window to layer my Glimmer Bouquet over. Before cutting the window, however, I added some ink-blended stripes and embossed the bottom portion of the card. I then added some letters to spell “hey” using the Glimmer Alphabet glimmer plates and dies.
Lastly, I added the wax seal using the new wax stamp, Birthday Banner. To make the sentiment on the seal stand out, I added some gold from a gold paint pen.
RAINBOW STRIPS
As I mentioned earlier, the nested oval set can be used to create rainbows! For this card, I layered the ovals together and cut them out so that I was left with strips of paper in between each oval die, creating rainbow stripes. Then, I ink-blended them in a palette of pinks and blue/greens, and a bit of glitter cardstock for some shimmer.
I layered these rainbow stripes over my background that I created using the Glimmer Bouquet and some transparent foil. This makes a very subtle glimmer background. You can see it a bit in the photos but if you are holding the card in your hand and turning it in the light, it’s a gorgeous background.
To finish this card, I added the wax seal using the Just A Note seal from the 3 Pack Wax Stamp Set. I love that this wax stamp set has 3 different seals with one handle. You can interchange the seals depending on which one you prefer. Great value!
RAINBOW LAYERS
Another fun way to create rainbows with these nested ovals is to simply cut layers and glue them together over each other. This creates dimension, as well! I cut five layers and then ink-blended the edges of each in my same pink and green color palette. The top layer I left white so that I could layer some of the Sealed Blooming Stems with a wax seal. I used the Thanks For Everything seal that I painted with gold paint.
I layered my rainbow over a background that I embossed with the Floral and Vine 3D Embossing folder. Lots of dimension on this card!
I hope you enjoyed a look at the Sealed for Summer collection today! Thanks for stopping by, and happy crafting!
Until next time,
Marie Nicole
