Often, I turn to my color palette to give me direction and inspire my creativity. With Spellbinders cardstock in beautiful shades like Fog, Fern, Teal Topaz, Indigo, Pink Sand, Poppy Field, Fruit Punch, Sage, and Mirror Gold, the possibilities are endless. While these colors may not be the traditional Christmas colors, they can create stunning and unique cards that stand out from the crowd.

Once I settle on my designs, the real fun begins! It’s time to bring them to life through the art of embossing. With the help of the Evergreen, Notched Corner Floral, and Deco Monoline Embossing Folders, I can add texture and depth to my creations. Using Spellbinders Fern cardstock with the Evergreen Embossing, I achieved a beautiful, embossed design that truly stands out. To add a touch of color, I lightly drag Distress Oxide Iced Spruce over the embossed design. For a simpler look, I turn to white cardstock and the Notched Corner Floral and Deco Monoline Embossing Folders. The possibilities are endless, and the results are always stunning with Spellbinders Embossing Folders!

After finishing the dry embossing for each card, it’s time to take the next step and add some shine using my Glimmer Hot Foil System. I have a love for navy cardstock foiled with gold, and this time I opted for Spellbinders Gold Aura over Spellbinders Indigo cardstock. It creates a stunning effect, perfect for Christmas cards. Additionally, I used white cardstock foiled with the same Gold Aura Foil for our dry embossed Evergreen background. And because I like to get the most out of my supplies, I also used the leftover foil along with Spellbinders Essential Solid Circle Hot Plate. The result is a dazzling and eye-catching finish that will make your cards truly stand out. Keep reading to learn more about the process and see the beautiful results for yourself!

I am so excited to be on the last step before assembling my cards! This step involves die cutting the beautiful and detailed Sealed Christmas Sprigs and versatile Popular Sentiments Cutting Dies from Spellbinders. I used Fog, Indigo, Fruit Punch, Teal Topaz, Crimson, Sage, and Pink Sand Cardstock and the Platinum 6 Die Cutting machine for this. It’s the perfect time to use up those leftover pieces of cardstock!

I also want to mention that I wished I had the Wax Seal Kit at this point, so I went ahead and ordered it. Stay tuned to my blog Confetti and Card with Lisa Mensing for more inspiration using these products and the Wax Seal Kit.

Now, let’s get back to die-cutting. I tend to enjoy the die-cutting process, it allows me to think. I did all the die cutting with the Spellbinders Sealed Christmas Sprigs Cutting Dies, cutting everything at one time. Save all the extra die-cut pieces to use on future cards or make a fourth, see mine below.

Assembling the cards is super simple using Bearly Art Glue and foam dimensional adhesives.

When it comes to making cards in advance, I’ve discovered a foolproof strategy that allows me to add a personal touch later: keeping the sentiment simple. By using the versatile “WISHES” sentiment from the Popular Sentiments Cutting Die Set, I can create beautiful and meaningful cards that can be customized with heartfelt messages when the time is right.
