Christmas Traditions Inspiration with Andrea Shell

Hello! It’s Andrea Shell with you, and I’m delighted to be back as a guest on the Spellbinders blog. Today I have three cards to share with you using the festive Christmas Traditions Collection.

My first card features the beautiful Rejoice Nativity Etched Dies. These dies make it so easy to create elegant Christmas cards! I cut the frame die from gold foil paper, white cardstock, and two shades of brown. I trimmed “rejoice” from the white frame and the manger from the dark brown one and layered them onto the gold frame.

I cut the sky background from navy cardstock and layered it onto a white oval. I glued the sand piece to the sky and attached the layered frame on top. I cut the figures from black cardstock and gold foil paper and adhered them to the oval.

The Christmas Traditions Paper Pad has lots of lovely designs, and I chose a foiled one for this card. After trimming down the paper, I matted it with black cardstock and adhered it to a white card. I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Three Kings stamp set and glued it to the bottom of my card. I attached my oval nativity with foam squares and embellished with a few black gems.

For my second card, I paired the Vintage Holidays stamp with the Through the Woods Etched Dies. I started by diecutting elements from the Through the Woods Dies and layering them together. Before gluing the trees, I drew on snow with a white gel pen.

I love vintage holiday images, and the Vintage Holidays stamp does not disappoint. I colored the image with Copics, added highlights with a white gel pen, and fussy-cut the image. I attached it to my diecut scene with foam squares.

I chose a red paper from the Christmas Traditions Paper Pad, trimmed it to 4″ x 5 1/4″, and adhered it to a white card. I heat-embossed a sentiment from Vintage Holidays, cut it into a banner, and popped up the sentiment and the circle with foam. I added a scattering of gold enamel dots to finish the card.

My final card combines several of the new glimmer plates from the Christmas Traditions Collection. I first foiled the gorgeous Holiday Florals Background Glimmer Plate onto green cardstock with Green Glimmer Foil. I rotated the plate and foiled the panel a second time. I trimmed the panel to slightly smaller than A2 size and adhered it to a white card.

With Polished Brass Glimmer Foil, I foiled a sentiment from the Essential Christmas Greetings Glimmer Plate onto white cardstock. I diecut the sentiment with the Essential Labels Dies and attached it to my card with dimensional adhesive.

I foiled the poinsettia and evergreen sprigs from the Holiday Florals Glimmer Plate with Polished Brass Glimmer Foil. After diecutting them with the accompanying dies, I attached them to my card with foam squares. I finished with a trio of gold enamel dots on the poinsettia’s center.
