Monster Birthday Cards

Hello crafty friends!  It’s Rachel Alvarado from RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com. I have a few cards to share with you showcasing the new Monster Birthday Collection. I absolutely love this collection! It’s versatile enough to make cards for individuals of all ages, and the designs are super adorable!

Monster Birthday Cards

For my first project, I created a mini slimline card measuring at 3.5” x 6.5”. I then used the Dancin’ Birthday Monster Etched Dies to die-cut three little monsters from a variety of colored card stock.  The fun part about this card is that the monsters’ legs swing back and forth when you tilt the card from side to side.

For my card background, I added some grass using the grass die from the Bunch of Borders Etched Dies. I also blended some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink for my background sky. Lastly, I added both a gift and some cute little glasses to the middle monster using the gift die from the Dancin’ Birthday Dragon Etched Die Set and one of the glasses dies from the Smart Glasses Etched Die Set.

For my second project, I created a sweet dancing dragon using the Dancin’ Birthday Dragon Etched Die Set. I once again added some grass using the same grass die that I used in my slimline card above. For my card background, I die-cut a few layers of scalloped arches using the Make a Wish Arch Labels Etched Dies. I love the gorgeous detail of this arch set!

After slightly blending my background with some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink, I adhered my dragon with some 3D foam adhesive squares and also added a #1 balloon using the fun Birthday Balloons Etched Dies.

For my third project, I used the same Make a Wish Arch Labels and Birthday Balloons Die Sets as above. Instead of a dragon, I added a cute little dinosaur from the Birthday Dinosaurs Etched Dies Set.  For my background, I lightly blended some Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink and added some spatters of diluted Copic Opaque White Paint for some added texture.

For my last project, I once again used the Make a Wish Arched Labels Etched Dies along with the Birthday Balloons Etched Dies. This time, I added an adorable little panda bear from the Dancin’ Panda Birthday Etched Dies. Once again, I used two layers of small foam adhesive squares for the little dancing legs to swing on, allowing the panda to “dance” when the card is tilted from side to side.
