Jazz Up Your One Layer Cards!
Hello Everyone! Jenn Shurkus here and I’m wicked excited to be on the Spellbinders blog as a guest designer. Today I’m sharing some creative cards using this fun collection called House Mouse Summer Fun. I have been cardmaking for a long time, and House Mouse are some of the first wood-mounted stamps I owned. I just love that we can get them in red rubber cling form from Spellbinders now. Hopefully, these cards will give you some inspiration of some simple things you can do to jazz up your one-layer cards! Each of these cards are one-layer cards, the only thing popped up off of them is the sentiment strips. I like…

Beautiful Butterflies As Accents and Focal Points on Cards
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a couple of simple and pretty cards incorporating the beautiful butterfly stickers in the new Timeless Collection from Spellbinders. These shimmery, three-dimensional stickers are perfect for adding easy and dynamic accents or focal points to an otherwise ordinary card project. Fluttering Thinking of You Card If you want to give your butterfly stickers the look of movement, it’s easiest to create a fluttering path of these beauties on a larger card such as a 5” x 7” or slimline card. Here I added three brightly colored butterflies from the Summer Day Sticker…

As Timeless as Black and White!
Hi friends! Emily Midgett here with you today on the Spellbinders blog, and I’m thrilled to have been asked to play with the new Timeless Collection. These dies are spectacular in their incredible detail and delicate lines, making them great to have as a focal point or as a lacy accent to a floral focal point, as I’ve done here! I thought that the best way to showcase the marvelous details of this set of coordinating dies and BetterPress plates from the Timeless Collection was to use a stark black and white color palette, softened with peach and coral floral bouquets. The dies in the Timeless collection remind me so…

The ornate designs and beautiful heartfelt sentiments in this collection are easy to mix and match and I was inspired to create three pretty cards with them for different occasions. Soft & Pretty Sympathy Card I took a quick trip to the beach recently and was intrigued by all of the beautiful colors that complemented the soft tones of the sand. Afterward, I pulled out several sandy colors of cardstock and paired them with different pops of…

Adding Texture and Dimension to Monochromatic Cards
Hello, crafty friends, I’m Adrienne Boese and you can find me online as Alice Scraps Wonderland both on Instagram and on my blog. Today I’m going to be sharing some ideas for monochromatic cards, specifically, how to add texture and dimension, especially when you are working with a single color of cardstock for your card. There are a few ways you can add texture and dimension, but one that is really is by using dimensional stickers, like the Timeless Butterfly collection, which are the feature of this set of cards! The layered wings are perfect for adding depth to any project. Some other ways that you’ll see showcased in these…

Hello crafty friends! Suzanna Lee here today to share with you a few sandy layouts! As the school year comes to an end and we begin to formulate summer plans, the beach is always a favorite! The Simple Stories Just Beachy collection is available in the Spellbinders shop. While you’re adding that to your cart, be sure to grab some metal dies and embossing folders that complement the collection, there are so many to choose from! For this layout, I opted to focus on the orange, pink and yellows in the collection as they really popped the photos that I had of a beach sunset over Lake Superior. There are…

BetterPress and Yasutomo Watercolors & Brushes
Hello crafty friends! It’s Jung here, and I am back with another guest post on the Spellbinders blog. For my projects today, I’m working with the Yasutomo Aquarelle watercolor pallet and Yasutomo Fusion brushes. I made a beautiful card, featuring the Let’s Celebrate BetterPress collection by Yana Smakula. After I gathered my supplies, I started out by adding a light wash of color to an A2 porcelain BetterPress cotton panel. I added 3 different pinks from the watercolor pallet to the Yasutomo porcelain flower dish and watered the colors down significantly. Then, I added a thin layer of water all over the cotton panel. I used the largest Yasutomo brush…
