Glimmer for the Holidays – Pine Sprays 4 Ways
Hello crafty friends! It’s Rachel Alvarado from RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com. I have a variety of hot-foiled projects to share with you today using the Pine Sprays Hot Foil Plate from the new Glimmer for the Holidays Collection. My goal today is to show you how easy it is to combine this gorgeous hot foil plate with other Christmas-themed sets that you may already own, as well as how to easily use it on its own.
Pine Sprays and Poinsettias
My first project features the intricate pine sprays background combined with the previously released Wonderful Christmas Clear Stamp Set. My goal with this card was to add a pop of color to the corners of my card while still allowing my pine sprays foiled background to remain part of the center focal point. To do this, I used the Glimmer Hot Foil System to hot foil my background onto a 4” x 5.25” piece of green card stock with some silver hot foil. I then adhered this piece to a white 4.25” x 5.5” top-folding card base.
Next, I stamped my images from the Wonderful Christmas Clear Stamp Set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used Copic Markers to color them and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Once finished, I then adhered them to my card base with some foam adhesive squares for extra dimension.
Copic Colors Used:
- Reds: R14, R35, R46, R89
- Greens: YG01, YG07, YG17, YG67
- White: 0, C00, C1, C3
- Yellows: Y13, V12
Lastly, I added my sentiment from the new Comfort & Joy Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die Set that I had hot foiled onto a piece of black card stock and then cut out using the coordinating dies that come with this set.
Simple Hot Foiled Background
For my second project, I used the Pine Sprays Hot Foil Plate alone as the main focus of my card. This style of card is super easy to re-create and doesn’t take much time. I used some shimmery green hot foil from the Glimmer Hot Foil 4 Rolls – Shimmering Holiday Variety Pack and hot foiled it onto a 4” x 5.25” piece of white Glimmer Specialty Card Stock. I layered this piece onto a top-folding 4.25” x 5.5” green card base.
To finish my card, I simply added another hot foiled sentiment using the same hot foil sentiment set that I had used in my card above.
Pine Sprays and Ornaments
For my next project, I combined the Pine Sprays Hot Foil Plate along with the previously released Flourished Ornament Slimline Etched Dies Set. This time, I used some red hot foil and once again hot foiled it onto a 4” x 5.25” piece of Glimmer Specialty Card Stock. I used some Pomegranate Card Stock for my ornament bases and then layered them with some beautiful Mirror Gold Card Stock.
I also added some holly that I had die cut using the Winter Welcome Sled Etched Dies. To finished off my card, I layered it with a top-folding A2 red card base cut from some Poppy Field Card Stock and then added my hot foiled sentiment onto the bottom right corner of my card.
Pine Sprays and Christmas Cardinal
For my last project, I ended up using the negative foil piece of the pine sprays that I had from my first card along with the Essential Glimmer Solid Rectangle Hot Foil Plate to get a solid section of the pine sprays in the center of my card. I layered this piece with both some green and white card stock and then added a sweet little cardinal that I had die cut using the Tweet Cardinal Etched Dies Set.
I also added a bunch of holiday foliage that I had die cut using the gorgeous Holiday Blooms Etched Dies Set. Lastly, I added my sentiment that I had hot foiled onto black card stock once again using the Comfort & Joy Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die Set .
I hope you enjoyed my projects today! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by! I hope you give this beautiful pine sprays background a try!
