Cardmaking,  Die Cutting

Framed Florals

Hi folks, Kavya from @handmadebykavya is here with some fun inspiration for Lisa Horton’s new collection  – Spotlight Florals and Frames.

Framed Florals

I love playing with dies, especially flowers and ones that can be used in multiple ways. You will find that the collection is versatile as well! I have three cards for you today each totally different from one another!

Spotlight Iris

My first card is using the stunning Layered Iris dies. These are simple to use and create the most beautiful and layered Irises. I started off by die cutting the iris using white cardstock and ink blended them using shaded of purple, pink, green, and yellow dye inks. I then die-cut Fog cardstock with Stitched Starry Argyle Etched Die and ink blended it using shades of blue dye inks. Then, I used Sentimental Ampersand Small Die of the Month and Handwritten Sentiments Etched Dies from the Tulip Garden Collection to create the whole sentiment. Finally, I adhered all these images on the die-cut background and I was done!

Abstract Spotlighted Florals

My next uses the Layered Anemone die. I love the abstract spotlights created by the Stitched Edge Circle Background dies. I started off by layering Fruit Punch and Persimmon cardstock to create my card base. I was inspired by Yana Smakula to try this out and I love how this looks! Then, I die-cut the chevron background using Barely Peach cardstock and adhered it to the background using foam tape to give it the raised look! I placed Pink Sand cardstock behind the frame. Then, I die-cut a bunch of anemones using Fruit Punch cardstock and Fern cardstock. I ink blended them and adhered them to the card base. Added a sentiment from Yana’s Layered Script sentiments and I was done!

Floral Vines

My last card uses the Layered Anemone die as well. I always love walking by homes in my neighborhood that are covered in vines and delicate florals. I tried to recreate that scene by delicately wrapping some beautiful white anemones around Woven Lattice Texture die. I created my anemones using white cardstock and die cut the leaves using Fern cardstock and Sealed Leaf Sprigs die. I adhered this on black mini slimline cardstock with woven lattice texture die cut out of Graphite cardstock. I finished it off by using a sentiment from Tiara Trifold set die cut out of Brushed Gold cardstock.
