Fresh Florals with the From The Garden Collection by Wendy Vecchi

Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of cards made with the new From The Garden Collection by Wendy Vecchi.  The beautiful floral designs and fun sentiments in this collection inspired me to create three bright and pretty cards perfect for sending a springtime hello.

Floral Thanks Card

I love the classic shapes and sentiment included in the Heartfelt Thanks & Scallops Die Set, so I decided to play with this first.  Here I stacked up lots of layers and added some pretty die-cut florals for this thank-you card with a slightly vintage style.

Trim a piece of Dune Cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5” and emboss it with the Flowers & Foliage 3D Embossing Folder.  Lightly blend Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner.  Die cut Alabaster and Mirror Gold Cardstock using two of the scallop dies from the Heartfelt Thanks & Scallops Die Set.  Cut a heart out of the center of the smaller panel using the largest heart die and blend Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges before stacking the panels in the center of the card front with foam adhesive.

Die-cut Sunkissed, Latte, and Rainforest Cardstock using the small flower and leaf dies from the Vintage Florals Die Set.  Blend Vintage Photo Distess Ink around the edges of the die-cuts and assemble with liquid glue.  Die cut Alabaster and Mirror Gold Cardstock using the thanks die from the Heartfelt Thanks & Scallops Die Set.  Add the flowers and sentiment to the front of the card with foam adhesive and embellish with Gold Mix Gems.

Stenciled Floral Bouquet Card

The Garden Party Stamp & Die Set contains such beautiful imagery and some really unique sentiments.  When combined with the coordinating stencil, you can make some amazing floral cards in no time at all!

Stamp the floral image from the Garden Party Stamp & Die Set onto white cardstock using brown ink.  Apply various Distress Inks (Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon, Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Peacock Feathers) through the coordinating stencils to quickly and easily add lots of color.  Stamp the sentiment onto white cardstock with the same brown ink and cut both out using the coordinating dies.

Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4” x 5.25” and emboss it using the Flowers & Foliage 3D Embossing Folder.  Mat the panel with Latte Cardstock, wrap rustic twine around it three times, and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.  To finish off the card, pop the image and sentiment up on the front of the card with more foam adhesive.

Bright Spring Hello Card

Lastly, I wanted to create a bright and pretty springtime bouquet using the Vintage Florals Die Set for this cheery hello card.

Die-cut Pink Sand, Persimmon, Rainforest, and Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Vintage Florals Die Set.  After inking the die-cuts with Distress Inks to add lots of depth (Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, and Mowed Lawn), assemble them with liquid glue or foam adhesive (large flower).  Die cut the hello sentiment out of Mirror Gold Cardstock once and white cardstock three times, adhering the layers together to form a nice, thick sentiment.

Emboss a piece of Waterfall Cardstock using the Flowers & Foliage 3D Embossing Folder and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner.  Die cut white cardstock using the largest scallop die from the Heartfelt Thanks & Scallops Die Set and splatter diluted Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and gold metallic watercolor over the panel before adding it to the card front with foam adhesive.  Arrange the flowers on top of the card and adhere down with a mix of liquid glue and foam adhesive for lots of dimension.  Add the sentiment to the lower corner with liquid glue.
