Cardmaking,  Glimmer Hot Foil

(Almost!) One Layer Wonders

Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog sharing inspiration using the Glimmering Flowers collection. Today I have three cards to share that are (almost) one-layer cards. Whilst I love adding dimension on my cards, for mailing purposes, it is easier having less dimension!

GET WELL SOON

For my first card, I wanted to create a shaped card. I find that shaped cards add more interest to clean and simple cards.

Apart from the sentiment (and embellishments), this card has no dimension to it, but because it is a shaped card, I don’t feel that it looks too flat. However, if you love dimension, you could easily pop the panel up on a larger card base!

PRETTY AMAZING

My next card uses the peonies in the collection. These are so pretty!

TIP: With larger Glimmer Plates, I sometimes need to heat them up for a bit longer on the platform to get a perfect impression. Experiment with what works best for you with your machine!

BIRTHDAY WISHES

For my last project, I wanted to show that the glimmer plates can be used on their own without the stencils. Even without adding color, they still add a lot of impact to a card!

To make the card:

Since these cards are only one layer high (adding dimension for the sentiments only), they are going to be easy for me to pop in the mail! They were also pretty quick to make which is always a bonus! I hope I have inspired you to take a look at the collection. Thank you so much for stopping by today!
