Country Road Inspiration Ideas with Rachel Alvarado
Hello crafty friends! It’s Rachel Alvarado from RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com, and I have a few projects to share with you today that feature products from the gorgeous new Country Road Collection by Annie Williams. Rustic Greeting Card For my first project, I created an A2-sized card featuring items from the Rustic Garden, Garden Builder, and Seasonal Décor Etched Die Sets. For both my large wagon wheel and barrel, I die-cut my lighter pieces from some Portobello Cardstock and lightly blended them with Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso Distress Inks to add some shading. This is a wonderful collection that is perfect for cards, tags, scrapbook/art journals and so much more! I have two cards to share with you today, as well as a tag. HELLO I am using the In Bloom set for my first card, which is such a pretty layering floral die set. I die-cut the flower petals from Glacier, Raindrop, and Cosmic Sky Cardstock. Hello! It’s Jean Manis sharing friendship cards created with the versatile and timeless Home Sweet Quilt Collection by Becca Feeken. The patterns in the collection gave me an opportunity to play with color. I chose two cool colors–blue and purple–as well as their tints and shades; cool colors tend to be calming and relaxing. Tint and shade are ways to change a hue: A tint is the addition of white to lighten a color; a shade is the addition of black to darken a color. Let’s look at how I played with color and pattern. Hello! I’m Jen Kotas from whostolemyglitter.com and I’m happy to be here today to share three Floral Reflection Collection easel cards. Easel cards are simple to make and the size of the dies and glimmer plate meant not much else would be needed. To create the easel card base, cut a piece of cardstock 4 ¼” x 11”. Score at 2 ¾” and again at 5” then fold on score lines. Cut the 4 ¼” x 5 ½” embossed cardstock in half at 2 ¾”. Adhere the pieces above and below the 2 ¾” score line on the card base.
