More Betterpress Christmas Inspiration

Hey friends! I’m Mindy Eggen and I’m so excited to be on the Spellbinders blog today to share inspiration using the More BetterPress Christmas Collection. I have been looking forward to working with this collection and creating some stunning cards quickly and easily.

One of my favorite things to do when working with BetterPress plates is creating backgrounds. I personally like to create the background first and then add the BetterPress design which is what I did for two of the three cards that I’m sharing today.

The first way that I wanted to add color was by watercoloring a nighttime sky for the Seasons Greetings Evergreens.

After the panel was completely dry, I used the Seasons Greetings Evergreens plate with Cosmic Sky Ink.

Another fun thing I like to do is use my BetterPress plates for hot foiling. I used Matte Silver Glimmer Foil with the sentiment from this set. How fun is that to mix and match these on the same card?!

Another way I like to add color is by ink blending. For this next card, I ink blended around the edges of my Porcelain BetterPress Paper with an Olivey green ink. I then used the Magic Of Christmas Frame BetterPress Plate and BetterPress Black Ink.

Once again, I thought it would be pretty to mix and match with hot foiling and foiled the sentiment in the center of the panel using Matte Gold Glimmer Foil. I embellished with a few Fashion Gold Pearls to tie in my gold splatters that I had added to the background.

For my last project, I am using the Poinsettia Corner BetterPresss Plate and Merry & Bright Sentiment Strips.

I started by adding the design to each corner of my Porcelain BetterPress Paper using BetterPress Black ink. Then I loosely added watercoloring over the image.

Once dry, I trimmed the panel down with the A2 Matting Basics B die plate set and Postage Edge Rectangles.

The sentiments I hot foiled with Matte Gold foil and I couldn’t pick just one sentiment so I added three!

These cards came together so quickly and I absolutely love how I can mix and match the letterpress look with hot foiling. It foils like a dream!
