The Stylish Ovals Collection With Brenda Noelke
Hello, crafty friends!! Brenda Noelke here from My PaperCut Creations! I’m super excited to be a guest on the Spellbinders blog again today! I’m sharing three cards using the Stylish Ovals Collection!! There is something for everyone in this collection…stamps, dies, embossing folders, foil stamping, and stitching dies!! It’s AMAZING! THINKING OF YOU CARD I began by stamping the image and sentiment from the Stylish Oval Birthday Wishes Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Copic-friendly black ink. I colored it with Copic markers and die-cut it with a die from the Essential Stylish Ovals Etched Dies. I also die-cut Fruit Punch cardstock with the next largest die in the same…

Inspired by the Sentiments in the Showered with Love Collection by Joan Bardee
Hello and welcome! I’m Joan Bardee and if you want to see what else I’m up to, you can find me on Instagram as Dear Paperlicious. Today I’m featuring 3 fun and colorful cards using products in the Showered with Love Collection designed by the super-talented Vicky Papaioannou. The design of each card was inspired by the sentiments in the I’ve Got You Covered Clear Stamp and Die set, which is part of this collection. The collection is full of clever open and closed umbrellas, weather symbols, flowers, a duck, etc. – all evoking spring. I took my cue from that season and used softer sherbet colors for each of…

Holiday Cards Featuring the Winter Wonderland Collection with Carol Hintermeier
Hello! Carol Hintermeier here, and I’m thrilled to be invited to guest blog today! I’ve been card-making for close to 20 years and a fun fact about me is that my very first die-cutting machine and dies were from Spellbinders! That’s another reason why I’m so honored to be invited to Spellbinders’ blog! I have created three cards to share with you using the beautiful Winter Wonderland Collection—one stepped-up card, and two quick and easy cards! I love how the Winter Wonderland die cuts make easy, and yet such beautiful cards! My first card is my stepped-up card where I’ve added some dimensional flowers to create a card for that…

Embossing Folders Collection – Pattern Play with Jean
Hello crafty friends! It’s Jean here sharing three cards created with the Spellbinders Embossing Folders Collection, which features four versatile and timeless patterns. Dry-embossing is a terrific and easy way to add textural interest to your papercrafting creation. Additionally, the embossing folder’s pattern can reinforce the card’s theme. Let’s take a look! Combine two dry-embossed patterns: This wedding card combines a background, dry-embossed with the Scallops folder, and an oval, dry-embossed with the Heart and Soul folder to showcase the wedding dress. Dry-emboss A2-size gray cardstock panel with Scallops embossing folder. Cut large oval from light coral cardstock with Essential Ovals set using outline and detail dies. Cut large oval…

Glimmer Background Collection – Not Just for Backgrounds with Jean Manis
Hello crafty friends! I’m Jean, a papercrafter living in the Pacific Northwest blogging at Right as Rain. I am thrilled to be on the Spellbinders blog today sharing projects created with the Glimmer Background Collection. I am relatively new to foiling with the Glimmer Hot Foil System and had a blast trying out the four plates in the collection. I foiled with different colors of foil, including Rainbow Foil, foiled on different colors of cardstock, and I tried dry-embossing with the plates. My number one piece of advice is to experiment! The plates, measuring 2 ½” x 6″, create gorgeous backgrounds (as the collection name implies) and the variations are…

Die D-Lites Inspiration | Elephant Festival Cards with Jean Manis
Hello! I’m Jean Manis, a papercrafter blogging at Right as Rain. I am delighted to be on the blog today sharing projects created with supplies from the November Die D-Lites release. On all three cards, the focal point is the Elephant Festival set. One of my favorite things to do as a designer is to explore the different ways in which the same image can be portrayed. On the cards I’m showing today, I’ve varied the color schemes and added elements from other sets in the November Die D-Lites release; I’ve also introduced gold on two of the cards and added texture with a dry-embossed background on one. On the…

Video: Just Add Color Inspiration | Pencil Coloring on Kraft with Debby Hughes
Hi, Debby here from Lime Doodle Design and I’m delighted to be here at Spellbinders today. In my video below I’m using the beautiful new Peonies Blossoms set from Stephanie Low and one of my most favourite ways to colour – pencils on kraft. The Peonies Blossoms set has four lovely floral clusters set on a red rubber, cling mount system which means you are going to get that beautiful fine line detail from the red rubber for these delicate blooms. I paired the stamp set with the Strathmore Toned Gray paper. I love the cooler grey tone of the paper, and its smooth surface makes stamping and colouring a…

Video Friday | Shabby Chic Cards with Olga
Hello die cutting fans, thank you for joining me on Spellbinders blog! Today I am going to showcase 2 projects featuring Swirl Background and Curvy Labels die sets from Romancing the Swirl collection designed by Becca Feeken. Both cards are the same design but are a bit different in structure. The project #1 is a multi-layered framed card decorated with a large flower made with Blooming Rose die set. For the background I used a sheet of paper with small floral pattern in subdued pink shades. The project #2 is a trifold card that has a little pocket inside so it can be used as a money holder or a gift…

Video Friday | Wine O’Clock with Olga
Hello crafters, I hope you are having a wonderful day! The card I am presenting today features a little still life in earthy tones. To create it I have used some dies from Wine Country collection designed by Stacey Caron. There is not much going on in this card in terms of colors. That is why I had to add a lot of dimension and introduce some fun materials to create texture, contrast and depth. There is also some meaning hidden in materials – isn’t cork making you think of wine? 🙂 I have gold embossed a sentiment on a matching label die cut and placed it inside the card.…

Spring Flowers, April Showers
If you’re like me, I’m finding myself thankful to be putting away the Christmas Paper while reaching for something that harkens spring. I’m Becca Feeken with Amazing Paper Grace and spring is on my mind. Indeed, Spring Flowers, April Showers! A touch of vintage paper, lace and flowers was enough to get me dreaming of flower gardens beginning to bloom. For my card today I started with a 5 1/2″ x 7 – 1/2 base out of cream – this is my favorite size of card. I assemble the base from one 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock cut in half at 5 -1/2″. On one of the panels I score and…
