Christmas Stitching in July!
Hello there, Michelle Short here to share some projects with you using the new Stitched for Christmas Collection. This beautiful collection features lots of stitching dies to create beautiful handmade stitched projects. Not into stitching? You can also use these dies without stitching, they still make beautiful projects! CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS My first card uses the beautiful Stitched Poinsettia & Holly Etched Dies. I die-cut the poinsettias from Poppy Field Cardstock (both the stitching layer and back layer) and the holly from Peridot Cardstock. I then added ink blending to the layers using Distress Oxide Inks and blending brushes. I stitched the poinsettias and holly leaves using DMC Color Essentials Floss…

Stitched for Christmas Card Inspiration with Jung AhSang
Hello crafty friends! It’s Jung here, and I am back with another guest post on the Spellbinders blog. For my projects today, I’m working with the Stitched for Christmas collection. STITCHED POINSETTIA For my first card, I used the Stitched Poinsettia & Holly set, along with the Stitched Starry Argyle background die. I started by die-cutting all of the pieces in the Poinsettia & Holly die set. Then, I added stitching to the die-cuts while I sat on the couch and watched a show. I used red metallic thread for the flowers and berries, and green metallic thread for the leaves. I also die-cut a panel of white cardstock using…

It’s Time to Get Stitching with Stitched for Christmas!
Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here and I’m happy to be back on the Spellbinders blog sharing some holiday cards using the Stitched for Christmas collection. Yes, Christmas! I’ve been crafting long enough to remember when companies would release their Christmas products in November, which never left me enough time to use them. So, I am thrilled to see Christmas in July. Chose a slightly nontraditional Christmas color palette, substituting aqua or teal for green. Note: I made these cards before the sentiments in this collection were available, so I used sentiments from last year’s collections. Warm & Cozy Sweater This card was inspired by all the sweaters my mom made…

Wax Seals Weekend Inspiration!
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog to share a couple of ideas featuring Wax Seals. Mini Slimline Friendship Card I loved the detail in the Scattered Flowers Wax Seal Stamp so decided to try that design first. Here I chose rich colors and gold accents for this pretty mini slimline friendship card. Melt Black Wax Beads and press with the Scattered Flowers Wax Seal Stamp on a silicone mat. Once cool, lightly apply a gold metallic marker over the raised areas of the seal. Die cut white, Onyx, and Mirror Cardstock with the Sealed Gingko Die Set and assemble the sprigs…

The Versatility of Shape Dies Using Products from the Sealed for Summer Collection with Joan Bardee
Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here and I’m happy to be back on the blog. Spellbinders recently released the Sealed for Summer collection, which includes a variety of beautiful products, including another set of “essential” shape dies – Essential Modern Ovals. I’m featuring that product today, as well as the Glimmer Alphabet. In addition to the new Essential Modern Ovals dies, Spellbinders has a line of shape dies (as opposed to dies that cut out a coordinating image) that are so versatile. These dies, such as, Hexi-Gems, Hearts, and Circles, can be the starting point for making colorful, graphic, geometric designs, as well as more traditional cards. Today I’m sharing 3…

Using Distress Oxide Inks To Add Tons of Color to Die Cut Scenes
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share some fun ways to use Distress Oxide Inks to enhance your die-cut scenes. Ink-blended backgrounds can add tons of color to your cards while coloring die-cuts with inks can really add dimension and realistic details. Here I used Distress Oxide Inks along with the Country Road Collection to create three colorful cards for different seasons. Sunset Scene Thank You Card Distress Oxide Inks are perfect for creating easy ink-blended backgrounds even between colors you might not normally try to mix. I thought a bright sunset-inspired sky would be beautifully paired with a…

Balloons are great for any type of celebration – birthday, new baby, congratulations, wedding, etc. I have made three projects that all feature balloons in some way. BRIDE TO BE My first card uses the Party Balloons Bouquet Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. I foiled the balloons, as well as the balloon string (three times), onto white cardstock using Champagne Foil. They were then die cut out using the coordinating dies. I placed the Balloon Bouquet Designs Stencil on top…

Enhance Die Cuts With Ink Blending With Michelle Short
Hello there, Michelle Short here to share three projects with you using the new Photosynthesis Collection. This beautiful collection features lots of florals, which I love! Since it also features mainly die cutting, I wanted to show how you can enhance die cuts by adding ink blending. This really adds interest and dimension to clean and simple cards! My first card uses Floral Stems Etched Dies. I cut the cone flower top petal layer from Snowdrift cardstock and the bottom ones from Purple Mist. I then cut the flower centers from Chamomile and the stems and leaves from Peridot. Using Blending Brushes, I blended on Distress Oxide Inks, focusing the…

Photosynthesis & Cards with Marie Heiderscheit
Hello, friends! Marie here again from Marie Nicole Designs. I have three cards to share featuring the Photosynthesis Collection by Simon Hurley. This collection is so fun! Lots of florals and a few ways to create pretty backgrounds. Not to mention the glimmer sentiments that are perfect for any type of card! Let’s take a look. SIMPLE BOUQUET Whenever I create a set of cards I like to make them all in the same color family. Then, I can switch up the card design, but they end up looking very coordinated in the end. For my cards today, I chose a vintage palette. Pinks, purples, and muted greens give an…
