Jane Davenport NEW Artomology | Get Creative with Mayline
Hello everyone! This is Mayline and I am honoured to be guest designer for Spellbinders! Today I have three projects to share with you using the Jane Davenport NEW Artomology collection. As always, this collection is incredibly beautiful and amazing, so I truly enjoyed to make all projects. DREAM MIXED MEDIA PIECE It’s an 8.5×11 sized mixed media piece. It was a challenge for me to combine various images, and use a different kind of colouring tools in the large area. So, it would be more of a process than my usual card designs but, I did it and it was worth it! And it turned out beautifully. INSTRUCTIONS: To…

Video: Not Quite a Blank Slate!
Hello Spellbinders and Davenpeeps! It’s Courtney Diaz again from Little Raven Ink to show you another way in which I create with the new Making Faces range. I love to add interactive items into my journals such a Tip-Ins. If you aren’t familiar with what a Tip In is, in the book printing and binding business a Tip-in was to attach (an insert) in a book by gluing along the binding edge. For example to tip in a color plate. So essentially it’s adding another page or item into your journal/book. I love Tip-ins, I live for them, I am always finding fun ways to add more to my journal and today I am going to show you what I call a Spark Starter! These are more for your inspiration…

Jane Davenport Artomology | Mixed Media Inspiration with Mayline
Hi friends! This is Mayline, thank you for joining me today. This is my last post with projects I made using Jane Davenport Artomology collection. Today I am sharing two cards and one mixed media. Let’s take a look at my first card. To start off, I stamped flower girl images and poppy images from Flower Girls Clear Stamps and Poppy Girl Clear Stamps using a masking technique on some white cardstock. I coloured them using Smooth Markers – Feathered Friends (EGG, FLOCK, HATCHLING, CREST, NEST, HOVER, WING) and Mermesmerizing (LORIKEET, MOUNTAIN GEM). I then stamped circles from Mad Confetti Clear Stamps using Squid Ink Gold Bullion. Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from Mad Confetti Clear Stamps on the panel.…

Jane Davenport Artomology | A “Glance” is All it Takes | Arting with Kimball Davis
Here we are again! Kimball here, excited to bring you my final Artomology post! Portraits are one of my favorite things to do so, of course, I saved this for my last entry. The reason I love creating faces is because the slightest changes can create a whole new person, emotion or story. This time it’s all about the eyes. Instructions: Step 1 – I started off by using Jane’s INKredible Inks to add a splash of color to the background. To get the ink flowing, I use Jane’s mister bottle to wet the page before splashing down colors. Knowing this was a portrait, I made sure to use a…

Jane Davenport Artomology | Decompress in Times of Stress | Arting with Kimball Davis
Hello again! Kimball here with another Artomology adventure! Life is full of ups and downs and art can serve as a great tool to express emotions and release stress, especially when your world seems to be changing rapidly. When using art to express yourself emotionally, it can be beneficial to take on a more carefree approach to your creation. When you aren’t focused on a specific technique or end result, it allows you to focus in on what you’re really feeling. Sometimes you end up with a surprising piece that takes you out of your comfort zone and allows you to discover new things about yourself as an artist. Instructions:…
