Spellbinders recently released the Sealed for Summer collection, which includes a variety of beautiful products, including another set of โessentialโ shape dies โ Essential Modern Ovals. Iโm featuring that product today, as well as the Glimmer Alphabet. In addition to the new Essential Modern Ovals dies, Spellbinders has a line of shape dies (as opposed to dies that cut out a coordinating image) that are so versatile. These dies, such as, Hexi-Gems, Hearts, and Circles, can be the starting point for making colorful, graphic, geometric designs, as well as more traditional cards. Today Iโm sharing 3…

Direct-to-Paper Backgrounds & Glimmer Cardfront Sentiments by Joan Bardee
Hello crafters! Iโm Joan Bardee and I hope you are ready for some fun! Today Iโm sharing some easy and colorful cards using the unique Glimmer Cardfront Sentiments collection. Bottom line โ this collection, which has 6 separate glimmer plates, each with a large sentiment in a fun font โ packs a big punch. The collection also includes a stencil and die that creates a beautiful floral. I paired 3 of these sentiments with a background made with the โdirect-to-paperโ technique. In this technique, you hold the ink pad in your hand and apply it directly to the paper. I decided on somewhat abstract versions of circles, stripes, and plaid.…

Creating โOceansโ Without Watercoloring Using the Seahorse Kisses Collection with Joan Bardee
Hello crafters! Iโm Joan Bardee and today I am sharing 3 ocean-themed cards using the beautiful Seahorse Kisses Collection designed by Dawn Woleslagle. As Iโm sure many of you know, Dawn Woleslagle is an amazing watercolorist. The Seahorse Kisses Collection would be beautiful watercolored. However, since Iโm not on speaking terms with watercolors, I decided to create ocean backgrounds with ink blending on specialty papers. I hope you like the results. A Modern Inky Tide This abstract modern take on ocean tides was inspired by these amazing cards that Yana Smakula made with Spellbinders Glimmer Specialty Cardstock. This paper, designed to be the perfect paper for hot foiling, has a…

Change colors and you will get a totally different look. And, as youโll see, there is room for even more creativity. For these cards, I was inspired by Pennsylvania Dutch designs โ a…

Inspired by the Sentiments in the Showered with Love Collection by Joan Bardee
Hello and welcome! Iโm Joan Bardee and if you want to see what else Iโm up to, you can find me on Instagram as Dear Paperlicious. Today Iโm featuring 3 fun and colorful cards using products in the Showered with Love Collection designed by the super-talented Vicky Papaioannou. The design of each card was inspired by the sentiments in the Iโve Got You Covered Clear Stamp and Die set, which is part of this collection. The collection is full of clever open and closed umbrellas, weather symbols, flowers, a duck, etc. โ all evoking spring. I took my cue from that season and used softer sherbet colors for each of…
