Hi there, this is Annie Williams and Iโm excited to be back on the blog today to share a bunch of cards made with some of the beautiful Doodlebug products available in the Spellbinders shop. I paired many of the brightly colored cards and envelopes, sweet patterned papers, and fun washi tapes and embellishments with some of my favorite Spellbinders dies to create cards for many different kinds of occasions. Mailbox Thank You Card I hear a lot of crafters say that they love patterned paper, but struggle to use it on their projects sometimes, especially those with bolder colors and patterns. Here I turned a bright stripe pattern into…

Shaped Christmas Cards Made Easy!
Hey there, crafty friends! It’s Leica here, and today I want to share three unique Christmas card ideas with you. These cards are different from the usual rectangular shape. Spellbinders has a great variety of shape dies, and the largest die from any set works perfectly as a card panel. Plus, they fit nicely inside an A2-sized envelope! For all three cards, I used the largest dies from each set. I cut the bigger shape out of colored cardstock and the smaller one out of white cardstock. To add some texture, I ran all the white panels through a die-cut machine using the Vintage Ornaments 3D Embossing Folder. As for…

Christmas Stitching in July!
Hello there, Michelle Short here to share some projects with you using the new Stitched for Christmas Collection. This beautiful collection features lots of stitching dies to create beautiful handmade stitched projects. Not into stitching? You can also use these dies without stitching, they still make beautiful projects! CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS My first card uses the beautiful Stitched Poinsettia & Holly Etched Dies. I die-cut the poinsettias from Poppy Field Cardstock (both the stitching layer and back layer) and the holly from Peridot Cardstock. I then added ink blending to the layers using Distress Oxide Inks and blending brushes. I stitched the poinsettias and holly leaves using DMC Color Essentials Floss…

Stitched for Christmas Card Inspiration with Jung AhSang
Hello crafty friends! Itโs Jung here, and I am back with another guest post on the Spellbinders blog. For my projects today, Iโm working with the Stitched for Christmas collection. STITCHED POINSETTIA For my first card, I used the Stitched Poinsettia & Holly set, along with the Stitched Starry Argyle background die. I started by die-cutting all of the pieces in the Poinsettia & Holly die set.ย Then, I added stitching to the die-cuts while I sat on the couch and watched a show.ย I used red metallic thread for the flowers and berries, and green metallic thread for the leaves.ย I also die-cut a panel of white cardstock using…

Itโs Time to Get Stitching with Stitched for Christmas!
Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here and Iโm happy to be back on the Spellbinders blog sharing some holiday cards using the Stitched for Christmas collection. Yes, Christmas! Iโve been crafting long enough to remember when companies would release their Christmas products in November, which never left me enough time to use them. So, I am thrilled to see Christmas in July. Chose a slightly nontraditional Christmas color palette, substituting aqua or teal for green. Note: I made these cards before the sentiments in this collection were available, so I used sentiments from last yearโs collections. Warm & Cozy Sweater This card was inspired by all the sweaters my mom made…

Design Decisions: Keeping the Process Simple Using the Stylish Ovals Collection with Joan Bardee
Hello crafters! Do you have a hard time settling on a card design? Iโm Joan Bardee and I confess to remaking my cards multiple times. Today Iโm sharing how I simplified my design decisions using the beautiful Stylish Ovals Collection. I took a long look at the collection and noted that several of the products have a symmetrical or near-symmetrical design. Symmetry, where one half of the design mirrors the other half, is balanced and evokes calm. So, for each card, I opted to use: 1. the same limited color palette (red/peach, white, and/or gold), and 2. a symmetrical or near symmetrical layout. I found that by making these decisions…

Shaped Cards with Bibiโs Hummingbirds by Joan Bardee
Welcome! Joan Bardee is here today. Delighted to share 3 colorful, shaped, cards using Bibiโs Hummingbirds Collection, designed by the very talented Bibi Cameron. This collection is very different from what I (and probably you) own. If you are looking for unique and gorgeous, this is for you. The Hummingbird Card Creator die makes an approximately 5โ x & 7โ card in the shape of a hummingbird. Iโm also sharing another card featuring another beautiful product โ the Delicate Floral Hummingbirds, which also can make a large, shaped card. You donโt have to make shaped cards with these products, but it adds a wow factor. Making a Shaped Card If…

Layered Stenciled Cards with a Folk Art Flair with Joan Bardee
Welcome! Joan Bardee here sharing cards made with the fun new Spellbinders Layered Stencils Collection. There are 4 sets in the collection: Hello, For You, Thank You, and Make a Wish. Each set comes with layering stencils and a mask for the sentiment. There are coordinating dies. These stencils do most of the design work for you โ the sentiment knows where to go, and the floral designs form a beautiful bouquet around 3 of the sentiments. Change colors and you will get a totally different look. And, as youโll see, there is room for even more creativity. For these cards, I was inspired by Pennsylvania Dutch designs โ a…
