Sparkling Christmas Inspiration – Foiled Cardmaking Ideas with Jenny
Hi there fellow crafters, it’s Jenny from JCCards here! I’m excited to be guesting here on the Spellbinders blog, sharing two card projects I created using the gorgeous new Sparkling Christmas collection. Both of my projects today use Glimmer plates from the collection and I was inspired by some of the gorgeous colors of glimmer foils available that aren’t what you think of as traditional Christmas colors. For those of you who haven’t started a Glimmer collection, believe me the effect is stunning, and I’m addicted. If you haven’t used the Glimmer Hot Foil System before (or even if you have), I highly recommend you check out the Spellbinders YouTube…

Wedding Season Inspiration | Cardmaking Ideas with Jenny
Hi there all you beautiful crafty people, it’s Jenny from JCCards here! I’m excited to be guesting here on the Spellbinders blog, sharing three card projects I created using the wonderful Wedding Season Collection by Nichol Spohr. This collection was so much fun to play with – the sky really is the limit for color coordinating with any forthcoming wedding theme, and it can easily be tailored for other occasions as well such as birthdays or anniversaries! I spent so much time choosing colors for my cards – running through my cardstock stash and seeing which colors paired well together, and also looking at weddings on Pinterest for inspiration. It…

Destinations Japan Inspiration | Cardmaking Ideas with Mayline
Hello crafty friends! This is Mayline and I am honored and excited to be returning with another guest post on the Spellbinders blog! Today I have a few projects to share with you using the Destinations Japan Collection by Lene Lok. When I saw the collection I immediately fall in love because all the collection’s themes are Japanese traditional pattern, cloths, buildings and so on. Also, another reason is my husband is from Japan. Thus, this collection is closely related to me. That is why I was so excited to play with this Collection. Here is my first card using Sakura Blossoms Dies and Waves Dies. This card can be…

Fun Ways to Use Patterned Paper in Your Cardmaking Projects
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of easy and fun ways to use patterned paper in your cardmaking projects. Patterned papers can be a little intimidating to some due to busy patterns or bright colors, but I hope these techniques can help to show how easily they can add texture and color to an otherwise plain card. Pretty Floral Hello Card I love buffalo plaid, but it can be a very bold look and draw too much attention away from your focal point sometimes. Here I toned this blue plaid pattern down a bit by splitting…

Stampendous Holiday Hugs Cardmaking Ideas
Hello! I’m Jen Kotas from Who Stole My Glitter and I’m happy to be back today to share three cards featuring the Stampendous Holiday Hugs Collection. There are three adorable character die sets in the collection that I’ve turned into shaped cards. There are also coordinating stamp sets to add cute details or sentiments. You could turn these shaped cards into tags by punching a hole in the card base and then adding twine or ribbon. To avoid seeing the back of the cardstock colors when the card is open, die-cut pieces out of white to back things like the hat and beard. Die cut the Santa body from Santa…

Cardmaking with the Nutcracker Sweet Collection
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Nutcracker Sweet Collection from Spellbinders. The gorgeous color scheme and sweet die-cut designs and stickers in the collection inspired me to create three holiday cards that are both easy and elegant. Ornament Noel Card There are several folk art ornaments in the Nutcracker Ballet Printed Die-Cuts pack that are just gorgeous, so I wanted to play with these first. Here I arranged them on top of some pretty patterned paper for this easy and pretty holiday card. I started by die cutting the front of…

Crafting With Doodlebug – Cardmaking Ideas You Need To Try
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a bunch of cards made with some of the beautiful Doodlebug products available in the Spellbinders shop. I paired many of the brightly colored cards and envelopes, sweet patterned papers, and fun washi tapes and embellishments with some of my favorite Spellbinders dies to create cards for many different kinds of occasions. Mailbox Thank You Card I hear a lot of crafters say that they love patterned paper, but struggle to use it on their projects sometimes, especially those with bolder colors and patterns. Here I turned a bright stripe pattern into…

Cardmaking With Silly Santas
Hello! I’m Jen Kotas from Who Stole My Glitter and I’m happy to be here today to share two cards featuring the new Simon Hurley Silly Santas Stamp Set. I could not resist using as many of these adorable Santas as possible on each card. To add more shading to the stamped images, I used one lighter ink and one darker one per image. First, stamp the entire image with lighter ink. Then, tap some of the darker ink on only to the bottom and back third or less of the image. Use a small blending brush to soften the harsh line left by the ink pad and stamp the…
