This hot foil plate creates a beautiful swirling foliage design that’s perfect for making stunning Christmas cards. Let’s dive in! For my first card, I cut up strips of colorful cardstock and glued them onto white A2-sized paper. Then, I hot-foiled the Swirling Foliage Tree in gorgeous gold foil and trimmed it down, adding a gold border around it. The result was absolutely stunning! To complete the look, I added some white foliage, red berries, and topped it off with a pink Merry…

Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share how I created this fun Christmas envelope card using the new Envelope of Wonder Collection from Spellbinders. I love the idea of stuffing a big envelope full of festive elements and thought it would be fun to add some details to the envelope itself as well. Start by cutting the main parts of the envelope out of Forest Cardstock and the top flap layer out of Brushed Gold Cardstock. Emboss all of the main envelope parts using the Holly & Foliage 3D Embossing Folder. Lightly rub Gold Rush Lunar Paste over the…

Shaped Christmas Cards Made Easy!
Hey there, crafty friends! It’s Leica here, and today I want to share three unique Christmas card ideas with you. These cards are different from the usual rectangular shape. Spellbinders has a great variety of shape dies, and the largest die from any set works perfectly as a card panel. Plus, they fit nicely inside an A2-sized envelope! For all three cards, I used the largest dies from each set. I cut the bigger shape out of colored cardstock and the smaller one out of white cardstock. To add some texture, I ran all the white panels through a die-cut machine using the Vintage Ornaments 3D Embossing Folder. As for…

STITCHED POINSETTIA For my first card, I used the Stitched Poinsettia & Holly set, along with the Stitched Starry Argyle background die. I started by die-cutting all of the pieces in the Poinsettia & Holly die set. Then, I added stitching to the die-cuts while I sat on the couch and watched a show. I used red metallic thread for the flowers and berries, and green metallic thread for the leaves. I also die-cut a panel of white cardstock using…

I used different colored cardstock to create all the other elements and filled the card with these cute pieces. Adding a party hat and a bow gave it a playful touch. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampendous Kitty Hugs Faces and Sentiments Clear Stamp Set on a panel…

Design Decisions: Keeping the Process Simple Using the Stylish Ovals Collection with Joan Bardee
Hello crafters! Do you have a hard time settling on a card design? I’m Joan Bardee and I confess to remaking my cards multiple times. Today I’m sharing how I simplified my design decisions using the beautiful Stylish Ovals Collection. I took a long look at the collection and noted that several of the products have a symmetrical or near-symmetrical design. Symmetry, where one half of the design mirrors the other half, is balanced and evokes calm. So, for each card, I opted to use: 1. the same limited color palette (red/peach, white, and/or gold), and 2. a symmetrical or near symmetrical layout. I found that by making these decisions…
