Pink & Aqua Christmas
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog using the Lisa Horton Essential Holiday collection. This beautiful collection is like the name suggests, perfect for essentials! There are frames/layers, tags, backgrounds plus lots more! MERRY & BRIGHT For my first card, I wanted to show how you can utilise little die cuts on a card but for them to still be the focus. These trees are pretty small but absolutely adorable! To make this card: Cut two trees from Nested Tree Frame Etched Dies using Waterfall & Teal Topaz Cut another tree from Pink Sand and Fruit Punch Cut snow pieces three…

Elegant Christmas Cards using the Season of Wonder Collection
Hello! Jen Kotas is here today with three cards featuring the Stampendous Season of Wonder Collection. This beautiful collection includes two die sets and two stamp sets. This is the perfect opportunity to create a shaped card and make an elegant wreath card. I enjoy creating ink-blended backgrounds but if I’m creating one or two why not create a few extras for other card ideas. I made two Halloween card backgrounds at the same time as these three backgrounds using some of the same inks. Ink blend a piece of white cardstock with light and dark teal colors then splatter with similar metallic ink and white acrylic paint. Set aside…

Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog today sharing three projects using Simon Hurley Let It Snow Collection. This wonderful collection features lots of dies that are perfect for winter, Christmas and the holidays. My three projects all feature snowflakes used in different ways. MERRY CHRISTMAS PENGUIN For my first card, I am using the beautiful Frozen Flurries die (which can be used in so many different ways!) as well as Playful Penguins. To make this card: Emboss/deboss Frozen Flurries Etched Dies (without the outside frame) onto a panel of white cardstock using Platinum Six. Add ink blending to panel using…

Snowy Fun Cards Featuring the Let It Snow Collection
Hello, crafty friends! This is Emily Leiphart and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog, featuring the Let It Snow Collection by Simon Hurley. As soon as I saw those adorable penguins and pretty snowflakes, I couldn’t wait to create with these products. I went back to a favorite color palette of mine for these cards and I based it around the penguins but I also really love the contrast of the colors on the other two cards showcasing all the snowflakes. Can you guess which card I made first? Of course, it was the penguin card! I wouldn’t wait to dress up those penguins and I actually ended…

It also includes rectangle dies with a lovely little detail at the edges. This collection is wonderfully versatile! When I receive sentiment plates, whether glimmer plates or press plates, I create all the sentiments in various colors of ink and/or hot foil. It’s a great time saver! Even though I didn’t do it here, you can use the Layered Classy Glasses Stencils when you hot foil the Classy Glasses Press Plate as well. Hot foil the Classy Glasses Press Plate with Aura Hot…

HERE FOR THE BOOS For my first card, I am using Olive Martinis Etched Dies, along with Boos! Cocktails, to dress it up for Halloween. Non-Traditional Holiday Cards with the Stitched Bright Collection
Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here sharing some fun holiday cards made with the Stitched Bright collection. It’s a fun collection of dies – Stitched Holiday Tree, Stitched String Lights, and Stitched Starfilled Background. I didn’t embroider with these dies, but that’s the beauty of stitching dies – you can use them with or without embroidery thread. These cards are boldly non-traditional, both in style and color. That works for me, but if you want to tone them down, substitute softer colors. Scalloped Tree First up is the Stitched Tree set of dies, with the fun scallop border. Die cut just the backer dies for the tree in all 3 sizes…
