Kaleidoscope Arch – Versatile Products Rock!
Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here. Today I’m sharing a few cards using the Kaleidoscope Arch Collection. This collection has a little bit of everything – beautiful dies, a coordinating clear stamp set, and a gorgeous BetterPress LetterPress plate. I love products that can be used in different ways. Versatility keeps us from getting bored and stretches our crafty dollars. Here are a few ideas. Quick and Elegant Sympathy Card Confession: I rarely make sympathy cards. My cards seemed too “crafty” for such a solemn occasion. But the BetterPress LetterPress produces professional quality results – one that is worthy of a sympathy card. Ink up the Kaleidoscope Flowers Press Plate with…

Emily Midgett from Sixth Street Sundries here with you today on the Spellbinders blog, and today I have some inspiration to share using a few products from the BetterPress Christmas Collection! One of my favorite things about the new BetterPress Letterpress plates is how beautifully they work with both your BetterPress letterpress machine and the Glimmer Hot Foil machine! The amount of detail that you can achieve with either machine using the super intricate images in the BetterPress lineup is truly impressive. 3 Ways to Create Movement in Your Cards Using the Dancin’ Christmas Collection
Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here and I’m happy to be back on the Spellbinders blog sharing different ways to create movement using the Dancin’ Christmas collection. This collection is designed to easily make cute cards that have elements that literally move. No special materials are required. However, in design, “movement” can mean other things, including leading the viewer’s eye in a particular direction. Here, I’m showing 3 different ways to create movement. THE CUTEST DANCIN’ GINGERBREAD – LITERAL AND FIGURATIVE MOVEMENT This card has literal movement – the body of that adorable gingerbread girl moves back and forth. It also has figurative movement – your eye follows the gingerbread girl…

Snowflake Card Ideas
Hello there, Michelle Short here to share three cards with you using Bibi’s Snowflakes collection by Bibi Cameron. This beautiful collection features lots of snowflakes that can be used for different occasions. They are perfect for winter and Christmas cards especially! WISHING YOU My first card uses the Snowflake Card Creator Etched Dies. This 6” large snowflake is perfect to add onto cards or can be used as the card itself, which is what I have done today. I cut the outer layer from white cardstock twice, made a hinge on one piece, and adhered it to the back of the other, to create a card base. I cut the…

Christmas Stitching in July!
Hello there, Michelle Short here to share some projects with you using the new Stitched for Christmas Collection. This beautiful collection features lots of stitching dies to create beautiful handmade stitched projects. Not into stitching? You can also use these dies without stitching, they still make beautiful projects! CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS My first card uses the beautiful Stitched Poinsettia & Holly Etched Dies. I die-cut the poinsettias from Poppy Field Cardstock (both the stitching layer and back layer) and the holly from Peridot Cardstock. I then added ink blending to the layers using Distress Oxide Inks and blending brushes. I stitched the poinsettias and holly leaves using DMC Color Essentials Floss…

It’s Time to Get Stitching with Stitched for Christmas!
Hello crafters! Joan Bardee here and I’m happy to be back on the Spellbinders blog sharing some holiday cards using the Stitched for Christmas collection. Yes, Christmas! I’ve been crafting long enough to remember when companies would release their Christmas products in November, which never left me enough time to use them. So, I am thrilled to see Christmas in July. Chose a slightly nontraditional Christmas color palette, substituting aqua or teal for green. Note: I made these cards before the sentiments in this collection were available, so I used sentiments from last year’s collections. Warm & Cozy Sweater This card was inspired by all the sweaters my mom made…

Faux-Bleached Letterpress Cards with Annie Williams
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share this easy and fun faux-bleached letterpress technique with the new BetterPress System from Spellbinders. You can go to town coloring the beautiful BetterPress designs, but with so much gorgeous detail already in the plates, I wanted to play around with simpler coloring techniques. Here I used ink-blended backgrounds with some soft faux-bleaching to create a bold look for these simple and pretty cards. Distress Inks with Faux-Bleached Letterpress I started with Distress Inks for this technique because I love the vibrancy of the colors and wanted to create a bold ink-blended background…

Enhance Die Cuts With Ink Blending With Michelle Short
Hello there, Michelle Short here to share three projects with you using the new Photosynthesis Collection. This beautiful collection features lots of florals, which I love! Since it also features mainly die cutting, I wanted to show how you can enhance die cuts by adding ink blending. This really adds interest and dimension to clean and simple cards! My first card uses Floral Stems Etched Dies. I cut the cone flower top petal layer from Snowdrift cardstock and the bottom ones from Purple Mist. I then cut the flower centers from Chamomile and the stems and leaves from Peridot. Using Blending Brushes, I blended on Distress Oxide Inks, focusing the…

Hexi-Gems Collection – Card Inspiration with Annie Williams
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Hexi-Gems Collection from Spellbinders. I loved playing with different ways to use this fun new shape in my cardmaking and was inspired to create a couple of pretty cards in three different styles. Sleek and Modern Friendship Card Since we’re working with “gems” here, I pulled out my favorite color of Glimmer Hot Foil to use with the new Hexi-Gem Glimmer Hot Foil Plate. Moondust Hot Foil creates an amazing iridescent finish that reminds me of blue topaz. Here I did some simple foiling for…
